Hello once again, everyone! We’re coming at you once again with your monthly updates! Let’s get started!
State of the Game
This month, we hunkered down into more spreadsheets and have been finally building up our Creature Compendium further and further. We’ve spent a lot of time fine-tuning our materials and systems for Swarm format, and we’ve made great strides on the Sekuta portion of the Compendium.
We also got a short playtest under our belts this month that gave us some great insight into some smaller problems in the system, including and especially a basic ability subsystem for determining who can take actions like biting, stinging, and other similar actions. We had a three-player free-for-all, and the reception was really good! One of our players, who played a Het alchemist, gave his thoughts, saying, “I think a major reason why I enjoyed it is due to my love of playing casters in D&D and weird but pretty strong Magic decks, and I think your game is capable of scratching both itches.”
For me, that is exactly the kind of reaction I was hoping for, and that despite some of the jankiness we encountered, it is a fun game. I can’t wait to get another playtest in soon using the updated systems we’re working on.
Song of Origins
Although we haven’t been able to stream as often this month due to life getting in the way, we’re still making steady progress on the Song of Origins.
As an experiment we tried to stream Muir’s musical composition process, which was a mixed result for us. The audio quality did not come through nearly as strong as we had hoped, but we’re trying new things, and hopefully we’ll be able to perfect that when we try it again in the future.
If you’d like to get a look at what’s to come, check out the VODs linked below, or come chat with us on one of our next livestreams:

And I believe that’s it for this month. The holiday season is a very busy season for many of us, and we take holiday weeks off entirely so folks can focus on their families and events. We expect that December will likely be the same, but we hope to get as much ready for you all as we are able! Until then, have a wonderful month, and I hope you’re all staying safe out there.
Cheers,
Isaac Muir
